For many projects, an additional treatment of the surface or the part may be needed to reach the desired rendering.

Dancam Design offers many finish and assembly options to suite your needs and budget from basic strip and ship where the supports are removed and the parts are sodablasted, to showroom ready models that mimic the quality and aesthetics of the real product these parts look and feel like the real thing, and are photo-realistic for marketing, display, trade-shows, sales, packaging, or focus groups.

Strip and Ship

All supports removed and sodablast. Shortest lead-time and most economical

Basic

Strip and Ship plus sanding of all supports marks. Excellent for Fit and Function testing

Premium

Basic plus sanding of all build lines (sandpaper grit 280) Ideal when smooth surfaces needed

Master

Best possible sanding. Silky smooth finish (sandpaper grit 400 + superfine soft pad) Typically used when making master models for casting

Paint Ready

Premium sanding plus primer and master sanding on primer, the perfect solution if you are to apply painting by yourself

Showroom

Paint Ready plus Dancam Design offers a wide selection of colors (gloss & matte) for your finishing process in order to make your prototype fit your needs as much as possible. We offer different color qualities, ranging from classic paints to automotive grade paints. In addition to our colour selection, we give you the possibility of choosing more specific and particular colors

Clear

Premium sanding and Clear coating When transparency is needed.  Depending on the geometry of your prototype, Dancam Design can offer different levels of transparency.                                      Levels of transparency available:

  • Semi-Clear: no sandblasting, adding a transparent primer.
  • Ultra-Clear: fine sandblasting, adding a transparent primer.
  • Smoked-Clear: possibility of giving a tone to the transparency.

Plated and Metallized

3D printed parts are available in hundreds of faux and polished finishes. Prior to coating, your model will require a primed paint ready surface.

Insert and Threading

Dancam Design can include the installation of inserts or tapping of specified holes on parts produced

Water-repellent Treatments

The water-repellent treatments are intended to compensate for the porosity of a prototype. There are several options:

  • Epoxy treatment: Epoxy brush application on parts produced via FDM
  • Sealant Treatment: Infiltration with sealant material on FDM produced parts
